Our client, head of an SME, was faced with a monthly reporting tool that had become obsolete. They called on our services to rethink their indicators, review the way the reporting was produced and support their accounting team through this phase of change.

The need to adapt to expectations

The arrival of new investors often leads to questions about the quality and relevance of reporting. Despite the expertise and efficiency of the existing accounting team, the company’s CEO was finding it difficult to meet these new requirements. The chief accountant had to manage numerous manual tasks in Excel, making the work stressful and time-consuming. It was also difficult for them to take a step back from the situation.

The company director therefore contacted Becouze to help them completely overhaul their operational dashboard. The objectives were twofold: to simplify the production of the dashboard by reducing the number of annual tasks, and to redefine the relevant indicators for the stakeholders.

Tailor-made support

To meet the company’s needs, we have set up a multistage support package:

  • In-depth discussions with investors, management and the accountancy team, to fully understand expectations and needs.
  • Redefinition of key indicators, in line with the company’s global strategy and broken down by area of responsibility at operational level.
  • Revision of the reporting methodology by integrating a precise coding of the information and using Power BI for a dynamic and traceable presentation of the data. For example, we have fully automated the cash flow statement based on accounting entries.
  • Support for the accounting team in managing the change, with training in the new tools and a review of the first reports.

We gave priority to face-to-face sessions to better understand needs, identify difficulties and adjust our approach with empathy.
